There was another world beyond the bough, Left it to falter not safe from the plough.
The time it came and didn't need the fight, when they were on our tails we fled the night.
In the sunshine we rode the horses. In the sunshine we rode the horses.
We sat down and closed our open eyes, just to see that giants carved the lines.
and found the truth then to repair, back to the hills no shelter from despair.
The giants found us there, the giants found us there
Keep our heads tucked low beneath the lines, left for dead those wrongs we can't put right.
Out of sight now everything must change, but keep in mind there's only us to blame.
In the sunshine we rode the horses. In the sunshine we rode the horses.
When the giants came they took their sto--o-o-ones back from our homes
Another time had begun to run inside of our own.
We'd taken those things that they one held so dear, ploughed through the circles wrenched stones out of there.
Burn through the rocks they're easy to steal, Carve up the lands kick the spokes from the wheel.
Bury the forest the kings need their crowns, what we can't touch remains deep underground.
Fortunes will falter again and again, over and over forever the same.
Over and over forever the same.
(Over and over and over and over).

Morning, come winter sunlight, breathing new light, on the forest spurs
The river, runs right through here, where the silver, swam through the trees
Gather around that we may seek, the oaks to shadow the stones
Gather and dance down beneath their feet, the rhythms rising out of the ground.
Closer, controlling the seasons, building the beacons, to carry the sounds
Of lost times, coursing the white hare, and then sleep ‘til, the birds again fly
The dark clouds stole the day, and all that we knew had changed
We'd live this life to dream again, until nothing, nothing, was left to defend.

Travel through the night
Waiting for the light
To strike the standing stones
And now we are alone.
Carved spirals to be found
Leading you to be bound
No path to point the way
This is your dying day
And you can see the walls breaking through
And their twisted claws grasping you
There’s no way to escape the need for you to stay as the meadow hunts you down
No bramble from the bough plants you ‘tween the ground
Clawing at the bone for all that has been done
The cold burns deep inside
Reaching from another time
Splinters slither in
There is bark instead of skin
Married to the wood
This yoke is well and good
To cling to from my arms
This meadow and its farms
And you can feel the walls tether you
And their twisted claws are now you
I can’t close my eyes to all the meadow has to bring
I am dead inside and I hunger for the spring
I lost my place in time now the rot is setting in
I want to see some light and I hope we will begin
To raise me from the this hole Save me let me roam
Wrench me from this hole Raise me and take me home
