about

Coincidence plays a big (if often unknowing) part in the coalescence of art in all its forms. When you are young enough to not know the way, or for that matter, where you are at, you might spend a rare happy day in a place, running around, surrounded by the sight and scent of magnificent summer trees, and which then leads on to a sandy beach. The memory fades, but is not dulled, by the passing of time.
Many, many years later you watch the same summer trees appear before your eyes, forever captured in semi-permanence on the screen. Coincidences need capturing in third refractions. Hence, this song.

lyrics

“This house it won’t last forever the cruellest trees are tearing the sway
Put out your mind the storm clouds that gather
The sand that we build on now ebbing away

Here they stand a voice unending Splintering the glass on the chain
I won’t lie if you don’t remember
Give me to drink and leave me to fly

Lay low your arms and I shall surrender to your control
I’ve been this way before, stayed close behind me
Prepare the day in your dreams, bewitched and beguiled again

Show me where the seasons are heading, whilst you bathe in Midsummer’s wine
The longest grass , holding the fragrance
Stored for you lover, when you’ll give me your thyme

We ran slowly in unison, chastened by the spark of the flame
Man doth grow bones ‘neath the hanging oak
That we may sleep whilst you are away.”

Believing in the beauty of sad songs, weaving folk, soul and beat sounds of the '60s into a tapestry of the human heart. Homespun sounds that reside in a nostalgic universe.

"Dark, unsettling folk that verges on the hymnal" BBC Introducing.
